How we feature businesses

Readers deserve to know what they are reading. Every story from a business we feature carries a Smart Business label in every listing, at the top of the story and again at its close, with the name of the company that supplied it.

Not an award

Being a Smart Business, and appearing on a year's list, is not an award, ranking or endorsement. It means the business has shared its story with our readers.

The seal

Each Smart Business can show its own seal, with its name and year on it, on its website. The seal links back to the business's story here.

The company's own words

Smart Business stories are published as supplied. Claims, figures and descriptions are those of the company. We may remove contact details, tracking links and formatting that doesn't belong on a news page.

Stories from other publishers

Headlines from other publishers link to the original story and remain their property.

What we won't publish

We don't publish stories that promote stocks, securities or cryptocurrency, make claims we can't stand behind, or are misleading, hateful or unlawful.
